Prerequisites
-
The devices need to support the repeater function. It seems they need to be either repeater version or dual version. Regular version does not support this function. This is a HW limitation, if you bought the wrong one, it will not work. DUAL MK32 is by default repeater capable as well.
-
DO NOT Update firmware before trying to do it with factory provided firmware. The Chinese do not provided the latest firmware as default and if you install the wrong one, which is probable, you need to contact the support and beg them for it.
-
The devices need compatible FW versions:
- MK32 RC Firmware version: 0.2.1, RC FPV Firmware version 6.2.6, V1.1.255.1f51370
- HM30 Firmware version: 0.2.4
- Air Unit: 5.3.1
HM30 FW: siyi-hm30-ground-fw-v0.2.4.bin
MK32 FW: siyi-mk32-rc-fw-v0.2.3.bin
Air Unit FW: siyi-air-unit-n32-fw-v5.3.1.bin
You can install these firmwares using Siyi Assistant software.
Possible Use Cases
- MK32 -> HM30 as repeater -> Air Unit
- HM30 -> HM30 as repeater -> Air Unit
- MK32 -> Air Unit
- HM30 -> Air Unit
- MK32 (dual) + MK32 (dual) -> Air Unit
- HM30 (dual) + HM30 (dual) -> Air Unit
- Probably MK32 (dual) + HM30 (dual) -> Air Unit
- No other possibilities
The most common use case is MK32 -> HM30 as repeater -> Air Unit; described below
Configuration of MK32
SIYI TX / Multiple Links / Wireless Relay (tab) / Wireless Relay (parameter) ON
(You need to restart the device aftwerwards)
Otherwise default, as far as I know.
Configuration of HM30
Menu / Setting / RepeaterMode: RPT
(You need to restart the device aftwerwards)
Otherwise default, as far as I know.
Configuration of Air Unit
When fully started, three short clicks on the binding button (using a pen, it's burrowed) are used to switch between modes.
- 2 green led blinks - Normal mode
- 3 green led blinks - Repeater mode
Set the device to Repeater Mode
(You need to restart the device aftwerwards)
Binding
You need to bind all devices together at the same time.
(you cannot just start the binding process "fast enough". If Air Unit is binding before any other device, it won't bind successfully. Binding needs to be done in a specific order.)
Bind MK32 and HM30 first and before it completes the binding process, also bind Air Unit
MK32
SIYI TX / System / Bind
HM30
Menu / Setting / Bind
Air Unit
Hold the binding button for a few seconds (until it starts blinking)
Binding the MK32 as dual controllers; described below
Configuration of MK32 Master
SIYI TX / Multiple Links / Wireless Relay (tab) / Wireless Relay (parameter) OFF
SIYI TX / Multiple Links / Multiple Relay (tab) / Function Type Dual RC TX-A
(You need to restart the device aftwerwards)
Otherwise default, as far as I know.
Configuration of MK32 Slave
SIYI TX / Multiple Links / Wireless Relay (tab) / Wireless Relay (parameter) OFF
SIYI TX / Multiple Links / Multiple Relay (tab) / Function Type Dual RC TX-B
(You need to restart the device aftwerwards)
Otherwise default, as far as I know.
Configuration of Air Unit
When fully started, three short clicks on the binding button (using a pen, it's burrowed) are used to switch between modes.
- 2 green led blinks - Normal mode
- 3 green led blinks - Repeater mode
Set the device to Normal Mode
(You need to restart the device aftwerwards)
Binding
You need to bind them one by one, starting with the master and air unit. After they are bound, you bind slave and air unit.
- Master and Air unit
- Slave and Air unit
MK32
SIYI TX / Multiple Links / Multiple Relay (tab) / Bind (Not the ordinary bind)
Air Unit
Hold the binding button for a few seconds (until it starts blinking)
How to take-over control from Master to Slave
On the Master MK32 (TX-A), go to the SIYI TX menu / Multiple Links / Control Switch. Assign a physical switch (SB). This will toggle control between the Slave and Master
Now configure which channels should be transferred (Control Channels): Still on the Master MK32, open the “Control Channels” page under Multiple Links. Here, define which RC channels will be controlled by TX-B in when in control. For example, if you want the Slave controller to take over primary flight controls, you would map channels 1–4 to TX-B in this menu. For most use cases you can just move all controls to TX-B when you authorize it. Now you have a working dual mode. No need to thank me
