Backup

After successful autonomous test flights and before shipping, back up all critical UAV data.

Steps

  1. Delete the bag_files folder to avoid backing up ROSbags.
  2. Upload the final example_session to the "backup" folder in the project's Google Drive folder.
  3. Download all PX4 parameters through QGroundControl and upload them to Google Drive.
  4. Create a full disk backup of the UAV using Clonezilla. Compress the image folder into a .zip file and upload it to Google Drive.

Checklist

  • Delete the bag_files folder.
  • Upload the final example_session to the "backup" folder in Google Drive.
  • Download PX4 parameters through QGroundControl and upload them to Google Drive.
  • Create a full disk backup using Clonezilla.
  • Compress the Clonezilla image and upload it to Google Drive.

Documentation

Before shipping, record the UAV's physical properties for the project documentation:

  1. Measure and record the mass of the UAV with the intended battery and propellers.
  2. Measure and record the dimensions (width, height, length in cm) with propellers.
  3. Measure and record the dimensions (width, height, length in cm) without propellers.

  • Measure and record UAV mass (with battery and propellers).
  • Measure and record UAV dimensions with propellers (width, height, length in cm).
  • Measure and record UAV dimensions without propellers (width, height, length in cm).
